Arma Reforger

Use Reforger’s own Workshop and align the game branch, server mod list and versions.

Use Reforger’s ecosystem

Player mods come through Reforger’s in-game Workshop. Workbench is the authoring route for creators. These are separate from Arma 3’s Workshop, PBO workflow and presets.

Check whether you are using Stable or Experimental. Their Workshop visibility is separate; content selected for one branch may not be available to the other.

Match the server’s mod list

  1. Confirm the branch and server you intend to join. Start with its required content rather than an unrelated personal mod collection.

  2. Use the game’s mod manager for the player setup. Required client mods are downloaded and activated when joining a server configured to require them.

  3. For a server configuration, export the selected list through Mod manager → JSON → Copy to clipboard. Retain that export before making changes.

  4. Compare modID and version when diagnosing mismatches. The name field is a readable label, not identity. Omitting version requests the latest version.

Check branch and versions first

Compare your game branch and exact mod list with the server. A requested older version is not a guarantee that it remains available. Consult the publisher’s instructions and the author’s current requirements.

Removing a required mod may be temporary: joining the same server can download it again. Keep the exported list and use the game’s manager for selected changes.

If a download still fails, check the current game and mod support notes before clearing files or attempting a downgrade. Keep your exported mod list so you can compare the setup after a change.

Keep server configuration separate

The documented game.mods entries include modID, optional name and version, and required. Review the publisher’s schema before editing. Reforger’s server and local-addon test arguments are not Arma 3’s -mod syntax and do not establish a third-party Workshop downloader.

Heimdall support for this setup

This guide and its game definition are prepared for an upcoming Heimdall update. They are not yet included in the released app. For now, use the links above to manage your setup in the game’s own tools.

Use Reforger’s in-game manager to change your mod list. Heimdall does not currently import server JSON, manage Workshop subscriptions or prepare addon folders.
