Explore Gruntilda’s lair and its themed worlds as Banjo and Kazooie. Learn moves that open routes to puzzles and collectibles, then revisit areas to find what you missed. Music, characters and comic dialogue give each world its own character.
Enhanced port announced
Evercade announced an enhanced Banjo-Kazooie port in a Double Pack cartridge with Banjo-Tooie, planned for October 30, 2026. This is a separate Evercade release; the announcement does not provide an Xbox update or upgrade entitlement.
No Xbox console mod-installation route was verified. The separate Banjo: Recompiled project supports community PC mods: download the project-specific mod file, then drag it onto the game window before starting or choose Install Mods in the mod menu. Mods can be toggled in that menu.
Banjo: Recompiled uses N64: Recompiled and RT64. Its release requires a user-provided North American 1.0 copy of the original N64 game; it includes no game assets.
Use the maintainer’s release and each mod author’s requirements. Keep your original game data and an untouched save copy before testing. Disable a troublesome mod in the project’s mod menu before testing again. Removing a mod is not a guarantee that saved changes are reversed.
The Xbox game is the original Banjo-Kazooie adventure. Evercade’s announced enhanced port and the community Banjo: Recompiled PC project are distinct versions; neither is an Xbox patch or an Xbox mod-installation method.

One October 15 player account praised the music, dialogue and worlds while criticizing swimming and some layouts. That account used a modified PC version, so it does not establish the experience or performance of the Xbox release.
