Install Raft Mod Loader through its maintainer. The website's Install Mod button opens the loader; if you download a .rmod file manually, put it in the game's mods directory. Launch through the loader, then use Mod Manager to load the mod.

Keep unmodified worlds separately. Load one compatible mod at a time and test away from an important world; unload/remove the corresponding .rmod and launch without the loader to return to a vanilla runtime.
