Modding this edition

Stardew Valley uses SMAPI for most community mods. Install the compatible SMAPI release, then place each extracted mod folder in Mods beside the game. Creating Mods alone does not install SMAPI. Check dependencies and the SMAPI compatibility list after a game update.

  1. Install the current compatible SMAPI release using its installer.
  2. Extract each mod into its own folder under Mods; include its required dependencies.
  3. Start through SMAPI and check its log before continuing an important save.
